Xianzai Dream Garden: affix hunting and PvP breakpoints
Affixes are a breakpoint system, not a collection. Seven and eight are the only counts that change a duel.

Xianzai in Sword of Immortality is a breeding economy with a PVP layer attached, and the two halves are judged by different numbers. Affixes (词条) decide both: they set the garden's output rates and, at 7 and 8 affixes, grant a permanent combat stat. This chapter covers the four tiers, the breakpoint arithmetic, the fielding rules and the auction threshold.
The percentages, Jade conversions and affix thresholds below come from one corpus entry with no second confirmation. They are printed here because they are the only numbers available, not because they are verified against the current client. Re-check them after a patch before you spend a season breeding toward a specific breakpoint.
What are the four affix tiers?
Affixes come in four tiers, and each tier answers a different question:
| Tier | Colour | Effect | Example values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Mutation (红色变异) | Red | Percentage amplification | 16–24% boost |
| Orange | Orange | One of three roll types | Efficiency +30% / 30% chance to double / base value +3 |
| Purple | Purple | Resource-per-Jade conversion | +5 blue material per 8 Jade / +5 forge stone per 260 Jade / +25 spirit dust per 16 Jade |
| Blue | Blue | Flat output bonus | +40% extra output |
Read the tiers by function rather than by colour. Red is a multiplier on what the Xianzai already does. Orange is a roll-type gamble: efficiency, doubling or flat base, and you do not choose which one you roll. Purple is an exchange rate that turns Jade spend into a specific resource. Blue is a flat output boost. Red answers “how much more”, orange answers “how does it roll”, purple answers “what does my Jade become”, and blue answers “what is the flat bonus”.
How much is a red mutation worth?
Red mutation amplifies by 16–24%. The low and high ends differ by 50% in value, which is why red hunting is a grind rather than a single roll: a 16% red is not a failed roll, but it is a smaller asset than a 24% red, and keeping or pricing one should reflect the range rather than the colour.
Chase red on the Xianzai that already hold 8 affixes. An amplification is worth more on a piece that is already contributing combat stats than on a bench piece that contributes only garden output.
What are the three orange rolls?
Orange is not one effect. It has three possible rolls, and which one you receive is itself a roll:
- Efficiency +30% — a throughput increase.
- 30% chance to double — a variance-based output boost.
- Base value +3 — a flat stat increase.
The three serve different economies. Efficiency is the safest because throughput is consistent. Doubling has the highest variance: it beats efficiency on average across many rolls and loses to it on a single roll. Base value +3 is the most predictable because variance does not touch it. For a long farming horizon, doubling wins on expected value; for one payout this week, base value or efficiency is the reliable pick.
Which purple conversion fits your bottleneck?
Purple converts Jade spend into other resources at fixed rates:
| Purple roll | Conversion rate |
|---|---|
| Blue material | +5 per 8 Jade |
| Forge stone | +5 per 260 Jade |
| Spirit dust | +25 per 16 Jade |
These are exchange rates, not bonuses in the abstract. Blue material is a fast, small-denomination conversion: 5 materials for every 8 Jade. Forge stone is a slow, large-denomination conversion at 5 per 260 Jade. Spirit dust is the medium rate, with a high unit count of 25 per 16 Jade. Pick the roll that matches the resource your account is actually short of; a forge-stone roll on a blue-material-starved account is a dead affix no matter how efficient the rate looks.
What do 7 and 8 affixes do in PVP?
Affixes are not only a garden economy. They grant combat stats, and the grants are breakpoint-gated rather than continuous:
| Affix count | PVP bonus |
|---|---|
| 7 affixes | +3% attack divine ability damage |
| 8 affixes | +3% received divine ability damage reduction |
| 3 fielded Xianzai with 8 affixes each | 9% total damage dealt and reduced |
The third row is the one to read carefully. The 3% is per Xianzai, and the bonus stacks across your fielded lineup up to 3 Xianzai: three pieces that each satisfy the 8-affix condition give 9% damage dealt and 9% damage reduced. The breakpoints are binary. A 6-affix Xianzai contributes nothing to either bonus, a 7-affix Xianzai contributes the offensive half, and an 8-affix Xianzai contributes both.
That difference is not “one more affix”. It is an entire defensive stat layer. For scale, the Descent state gives a 6%/6% swing and is treated as a strong seasonal mechanic; the 8-affix lineup gives 9%/9% and holds permanently rather than for a 12-second window. The Descent chapter covers that comparison from the seasonal side.
What lineup should you field?
The fielded combination decides whether the stacked bonus is actually online:
| Lineup | Total PVP swing | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| 3× 8-affix Xianzai | 9% / 9% | Optimal |
| 2× 8-affix + 1× 7-affix | 6% / 6% from the 8-affix pieces, plus a partial 7-affix bonus | Acceptable stopgap |
| 3× 7-affix Xianzai | 9% attack divine ability damage only | Offensive, but no defence |
| Mixed, all under 7 affixes | 0% | Wasted slots |
Field exactly three 8-affix Xianzai. The stacked bonus caps at 3 fielded pieces, so a fourth 8-affix Xianzai adds nothing to the PVP layer and is a garden-economy piece instead. Breed toward 8 and treat 7 as a temporary placeholder: a 7-affix piece is fieldable while you build, and an 8-affix piece is a permanent 3%/3% contributor.
When can you sell a Xianzai?
Synthesized Xianzai with 7 or more affixes can be listed on the auction house. Anything below 7 cannot be listed at all.
The threshold is aligned with the first PVP breakpoint on purpose. A 7-affix piece grants the +3% damage bonus, so it has real value to a buyer building toward 8. A 6-affix piece grants nothing at the breakpoints, remains a personal garden project, and has no market. Check the auction house before vendoring a 7-affix breed, because that is a real listing rather than inventory clutter.
The affix layer is also the point where the two collection systems diverge: the Fengyao chapter covers beast capture and the Fengyao Record, which is a separate loop from Dream Garden breeding. On the combat side, damage amplification and reduction work as described in the combat chapter, which is where the 3% and 9% values actually land.
